Yep, this definitely falls into Gun Glam! Here it is! Check out the photos of my Smith & Wesson 627 V-Comp racer from Apex Tactical. Special thanks to Scott Folk who has been keeping me up to date with the latest developments, photos and video. It’s been exciting to see the work in progress. I’ve been posting photo updates to facebook and twitter on my Smith & Wesson 627 V-Comp as it gets fit and trim for this year’s International Revolver Championships (IRC). The IRC has a low power factor requirement and since this is an open revolver that will only be shooting soft loads, there is a lot of room for modifications. The stock V-Comp is hefty can handle hotter ammunition. My barrel weighed in at 11 oz and after this work, its been bumped from the “Heavy Weight” division down to 8.8 …

Last year I shot my first International Revolver Championship (IRC). Based on Jerry Miculek’s gun recommendation, I chose the Smith & Wesson 627 V-Comp and had Apex Tactical take some of the weight out to make the gun a bit more manageable for me. I added an Aimpoint Micro and headed to the range to give ICORE shooting a try. After the ICORE Southern Regional and the IRC I was hooked. Now, the IRC is on my “must shoot” match list every year.
