Steel Challenge is such a rush.  There are eight courses of fire with round plates ranging in size from 10-12 inches and rectangular 18×24 inch steel targets.  Each stage is fired a total of five times except for the stage Outer Limits, fired four times.  It’s about pure speed and what makes the Steel Challenge unique from other action shooting matches is that one run on every stage is a throw away.  All eight stage times are added together and the lowest time WINS!

It’s Steel Challenge time! I had to make a last minute change to my schedule this month. June was another busy month! I shot my third International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE) match. Last year I took the plunge and shot the ICORE Southern Regional to get familiar with the game before I competed at the International Revolver Championships (IRC). I love the Bianchi Cup!  I fell in love with this match from the moment I took my first shots in US Army black and gold.  It challenges and humbles me. It teaches me something new every time I compete.  In the action shooting sports, it is the one event on the circuit where the results aren’t solely based on competitors shooting against one another. It is difficult to put into words what it means to me to win my 10th USPSA Ladies National Title.  Returning to the match circuit last year after taking time off to have my daughter, I tried not to put too much pressure on myself to win. The season has begun! Things have been crazy this month coming back from the Steel Challenge.
