Champion Shooter Julie Golob Takes on Social Media in 2017 SHOT Show Retailer Seminar
So excited about my first seminar of 2017!
News from the National Shooting Sports Foundation Shooting Hunting & Outdoor Trade Show
If you’ve been involved in the firearms industry or shooting sports for as little as a day, you’ve undoubtedly heard of Julie Golob. One of the most accomplished professional shooters in the world, with more than 120 championship titles in international, national and regional marksmanship competitions across seven different shooting disciplines, she is also a veteran of the elite U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit and has been named both U.S. Army Female Athlete of the Year and AMU Athlete of the Year. Currently serving as the captain of Smith & Wesson’s shooting team, Golob’s list of titles include wins at the prestigious Bianchi Cup, Steel Challenge and USPSA, IDPA and IPSC competitions. Her book, SHOOT: Your Guide to Shooting and Competition, is a comprehensive primer on the shooting sports and is the first book of its kind written by a woman shooting champion, and she is a dedicated ambassador for the firearms industry who shares her passion for gun safety, the shooting sports and hunting as an outdoor television personality, instructor and guest speaker.
Much of what Golob does and when, where and how she does it is tied together through social media, especially her resourceful website JulieGolob.com and including her Facebook. Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram feeds where she has legions of followers. In fact, she has such a dedicated fandom, her networking of social media foundations is often seen as an example of how to build and maintain a reputable brand—and that’s exactly why we asked her to moderate a Retailer Seminar at the 2017 SHOT Show.
Golob will be hosting “Social Media and the Firearms Retailer.” During this session you’ll learn how social media is an amazing resource that can help you better reach loyal customers and discover new ones. As Julie puts it, it’s also the Wild West of marketing! Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat are just a few of the many social media networks to navigate, but did you know that today’s firearms retailers face specific challenges when it comes to advertising restrictions on many of these platforms? With Golob’s help, you’ll get a primer on the most popular social media networks and discover how you can create an effective presence while navigating those pitfalls.
“Social Media and the Firearms Retailer” will take place Wednesday, January 18, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. The seminar is open to both NSSF Members and non-members with a registration fee of $25. To reserve your place in this Retailer Seminar, simply log into your dashboard at SHOTShow.org and add it to you shopping cart after you’ve successfully completed your 2017 SHOT Show registration.
