Countdown to SHOT Show University
Monday, Jan. 22, the day before the 2018 SHOT Show opens, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) is hosting SHOT Show University. It is the premier learning experience in the shooting and hunting industry for retailers and range owners that provides business owners of all experience levels ways to improve their businesses. A wide variety of industry and business experts are slotted to lead the various discussions, with topics that range from ATF inspection preparation and technology that drives customer engagement to NFA compliance, new media marketing techniques and how data collection and analysis can help small businesses thrive.
In addition to my normal preparations for SHOT as a pro shooter, this year I’ll also be at SHOT Show University delivering a keynote for employee engagement and retention! I’m excited to share my leadership journey and thoughts on how to develop a winning mindset through positive influence and the leadership traits that lead to success. I wonder how the audience will feel if I ask to take a selfie. 😉
My major partner, Smith & Wesson is also returning as the Platinum Sponsor of the 2018 SHOT Show University. Though this is my first presentation for SHOT University, this marks Smith & Wesson’s sixth year in a row at this sponsor level and it’s yet another way the company is dedicated to helping our industry succeed.
Smith & Wesson’s unparalleled level of support for our industry’s retailers and range owners underscores the company’s commitment to maintaining the viability of our industry from top to bottom,” said John McNamara, NSSF Senior Director, Retail Services. “It’s an honor to have this prestigious company partner with us in providing this ever-important educational forum.”
Now for the part that I know makes many of you a little sad… SHOT Show is not open to the public, but buyers and range owners successfully registering to attend the show can then register to participate in SHOT Show University and other events. If you’d like to learn more about my presentation and thoughts on leadership and influence, let me know with your comments on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube. I’d love to hear from you!
