#feelgoodfriday – Getting Crafty, Easter Bunny, a Win for Conservation & How Smith & Wesson is Fighting COVID-19
This week’s #feelgoodfriday is on Good Friday! I hope however you celebrate this week that you’re doing so healthy. As a mom, I was pleased to read that the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy are both essentials.
I love how many fun craft projects are popping up as people deal with life sheltering at home. If you’re looking to get crafty and want to usher in spring using recycled materials, check out this hummingbird feeder tutorial from Women’s Outdoor News.
This week great news came down from the Department of the Interior when Secretary David L. Bernhardt announced a historic proposal for new and expanded hunting and fishing opportunities across more than 2.3 million acres at 97 national wildlife refuges and 9 national fish hatcheries. This proposed rule is the single largest expansion of hunting and fishing opportunities by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in history! Read more about it here.
This last #feelgoodfriday makes me so proud to be affiliated with a great company. This week Smith & Wesson posted this…
We are deeply committed to the safety and security of our employees, so we have worked to adapt our facilities and procedures to minimize or eliminate exposure to COVID-19 while continuing to produce personal protection firearms and equipment to keep our country safe. At the same time, we’re working to support those on the front lines who are dealing with this virus day in and day out. We are proud to have donated 13,000 pairs of protective eyewear to Mercy Medical and Baystate Medical Centers, as well as to First Responders in Springfield, MA; we are utilizing our 3D printing capability to develop face shields for front line medical personnel to help alleviate the shortage of Personal Protective Equipment; and, our engineers have been working to produce a ventilator valve which enables multiple patients to be connected to one ventilator, and we are awaiting direction on how this can be deployed to assist in the treatment of patients.
We’ve historically been a strong supporter of the communities in which we operate, and we continue to work hard to make a difference. Stay safe.”
