Holiday Gift Ideas for the Gun Owner
I know. It isn’t even Thanksgiving yet! With rumblings about supply chain issues coupled with rising inflation, this is probably not the best year for last-minute holiday shopping. I’ve put together a few gift guides over the years and for 2021 I’m keeping all suggestions under $100. Many are even less than $25 and could make some great stocking stuffers or items for a gift basket.
Full disclosure, many of my suggestions are products from sponsors that I both use and trust. Please also be aware that some links are affiliate links and as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. The links are there for your convenience but I always recommend shopping around for the best deals.
Now let’s get to it! Here are my holiday gift ideas for that special gun owner in your life.
Julie G's Gift Guide For Gun Owners
Caldwell Steel
Caldwell steel makes a great gift. This yellow AR500 hardened steel comes in a variety of sizes, from a 5-inch gong to a full-size IPSC target. Two of my favorites that fall under the $50 mark are the 10” Coffin or 33% IPSC Target. Add a T-post or 2×4 hanger and your target ringer will be ready to hit the range with steel of their own.
Federal Ammo
Ammo may more precious than gold this year. Your special shooter someone will definitely appreciate a box, bottle or bin of ammunition, especially if it’s Federal Premium Ammunition. From 9mm and .22 caliber to more specialized rounds for rifles, you really can’t go wrong picking up a box that coordinates with their favorite firearm. You can find ammo online or at sporting goods stores, but don’t forget about your local gun shops too. These small businesses greatly appreciate your support.
Airsoft Fun
Likely not “Ralphie mom-approved,” gift a BB or airsoft pistol! They are quiet and fun for the whole family. Check out the lineup of Smith & Wesson airsoft guns here and watch for holiday sales. For an option under $100, take a look at the Smith & Wesson R8 Revolver. Best part? The “ammo” is much cheaper than live ammunition too.
Frankford Arsenal
Looking for something precisely right for the gun owner who reloads or likes to tinker at their workbench? Constructed of hardened steel, these Frankford Arsenal Calipers are an affordable electronic option and accurate to within .001 of an inch.
Lockdown Technology
For the tech-savvy shooter, Lockdown has some great safe storage solutions. A Lockdown PUCK is a monitoring and security device that offers real-time notifications for temperature, humidity, and movement using the Lockdown Logic App. Gift a Lockdown Plug to pair with the PUCK to sense vault humidity and trigger the Plug to turn on your humidifier. Smart monitoring for valuables is a gift that brings peace of mind.
S&W Throwing Gear
What do you get for the person who’s impossible and hard to shop for? Something they will be sure to toss! Smith & Wesson offers a variety of blade flinging options, from knives to axes. Check out the S&W Throwing Combo with three axes and knives.
Stocking Stuffers Stuff those stockings with little gifts that the gun owner will appreciate!
A Trijicon lens pen for optics is a great gift for the range bag.
They’ll smile when they crack open a cold one with this Federal bottle opener.
A set of Iron Minds Bands will help that loved one increase their grip strength for shooting.
Give something sweet with real New York maple syrup from Nikki Boxler’s farm, Boxler Maple?
S&W Leather Wallet
Place a Smith & Wesson leather wallet under the tree for that special someone. Available in either black or brown and with front pocket, bifold, or trifold options, use this link to score 10% off a wallet or other bags.
Safariland Gear
Guns & Ammo Magazine winner of the holster of the year, the 575 GLS Pro-Fit IWB Holster fits numerous CCW pistols and also incorporates secure retention. This hot holster is a unique one and great for the CCW holder who has everything. While you are visiting Safariland.com for other great holsters and gear, add a bottle of Breakfree CLP to your order and use CADREGOLOB for a discount.
S&W Flashlights
Brighter than Rudolph’s nose? A gift of a Smith & Wesson flashlight is both practical and thoughtful. Check out this Smith & Wesson M&P Duty Series RXP that’s not only a light with 1045 lumens and 3-hour 50-minute runtime on High. It’s also a rechargeable battery bank for your phone or other devices. Winning.
Books Books are some of my favorite gifts to give and receive.
The Lodge at Black Pearl Cookbook
For the hunter or home chefs alike, one of my favorite cookbooks is The Lodge at Black Pearl. It features appetizers, soups, salads, sides, main dishes, and desserts plus a whole section “Meals Before Sunrise.” The photos are colorful and beautiful too. Author Vicky Mullaney’s dishes are delicious and true farm/sea to table fare for the kitchen. She’s also offering a discount for Free Shipping and $5 off for a savings of $10.00 per book when you order and use discount code JULIE.

Give with an Impact There are many charities to choose from. Three that are near and dear to me are the Oconto River Kids, Cure JM, & Project Childsafe.

- Cure JM is a charity that helps bring awareness to Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM), a rare and serious autoimmune disease that affects our family. Out 13-year-old was diagnosed with JDM two years ago and this charity has been invaluable to us as we navigate treatments. Here’s a link to our fundraising page for Giving Tuesday.
- Wish granting for young hunters? That’s what Oconto River Kids does. It takes kids with life-threatening illnesses on dream hunts.
