Preparing for SHOT Show 2020
I’m leaving on Sunday for SHOT Show 2020! It’s hard to imagine my first time attending the Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show was 2 decades ago. A lot has changed since Atlanta in 1999 but some things haven’t, like my excitement to connect with fellow industry representatives and shooter friends as we celebrate how much firearms and outdoor industries have grown.
I have another busy SHOT Show planned with scheduled appearances, meetings, and other fun events. Here’s an overview of what the week looks like for me. If you’ll be at SHOT, it would be great to see you!
I kick things off on Monday with a keynote on the NSSF’s +ONE Movement for SHOT University. I’m excited to share my own #plusonemovement stories and how this program will help grow our community of hunters, shooters and gun owners in 2020. You can learn more about it at letsgohunting.org/plusonemovement or letsgoshooting.org/plusonemovement and while you’re there, take the +ONE Pledge.
Tuesday is when the show floor opens and I have appearances at Smith & Wesson from 10-11 am and 3-4 pm daily. Stop by and check out all the new products like the Performance Center M&P M2.0 CORE’s and M&P 9mm Shield EZ. Tuesday through Thursday from 1-2 pm I’ll join fellow Safariland teammates on stage for product demos and our annual dry fire shoot-off.
Wednesday afternoon is the annual “Women of the Gun” hosted by the NSSF to benefit Project Childsafe. Originally a Women’s Outdoor News event, it’s grown over the years and proves to be a wonderful way to celebrate the women in the industry and our dedication to real firearm safety.
On Thursday at 11:30 am I’ll be interviewed for SHOT TV to talk more about +ONE, Project Childsafe and my children’s book about gun safety. That afternoon I’ll visit the Cody Firearms Museum (CFM) booth at 4:15 for a meet and greet. I’m honored to be included in the newly remodeled CFM and look forward to sharing more about it with attendees.
SHOT Show is an industry trade show and that does mean that it is not open to the public. I know that most of you who read my blog won’t be attending, but I’ll do my best to share the experience in my stories on Instagram and Facebook. You can expect to see things from Federal Premium, Trijicon, Caldwell, Wheeler and more! I’ll also be taking over SHOT Show’s (@shotshow) stories on Friday from 11-1 pm PST as I get a chance to walk the show floor. You can also follow #shotshow2020 for posts throughout the week.
SHOT 2020, I’m ready for ya!
